Anna Kontoleon

Anna Kondoleon studied theater studies and acting and works in primary education as a drama teacher and as an animator of cultural educational programs for students and teachers. She also works as a performer and director of children plays. She is the writer and translator of several literary books. She has published children’s stories and young adult novels. Her short story Otto and her novel The Seven Lives of Kombos were awarded by the Greek section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) and her adolescent novel To infinity and beyond was listed on the IBBY Honor Board 2018. She has translated more than 30 books from English, French and German and has been awarded by the Greek Society of Translators of Literature for the translation of the French novel Max by Sarah Cohen-Skali and by the Greek section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) for the translation of Pan’s Labyrinth by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke. She has cooperated as a developmental editor with several publishing houses, greek and foreign writers and she gives lessons of Creative Writing.
