A ceremony was recently held during which Persa Koumoutsi was honoured with the highest award from the State of Palestine for culture and the arts. The award was presented during a simple ceremony at the Embassy, in the presence of the Ambassador and the President of the Palestinian Writers’ Union.

The medal was presented by the Palestinian Ambassador to Greece on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, who also signed the accompanying document. Also present was the President of the Palestinian Writers’ Union, Murad Al-Sudani مراد السوداني, a poet and journalist who presented me with the “Nishan Sayyadat” medal for women’s creativity. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Palestinian community in Greece, and Eirini Publications was honoured for its work.
