Argyro Pipini

Argyro Pipini is a writer, actress and translator. She studied Political Sciences and Theatre and she loves books, her whole life evolving around them. She works as a drama teacher and as a translator for literature, theatre, and children’ s books, and hosts creative writing seminars, workshops and webinars for adults and children. She has received several awards, both as a writer and as a translator. Melak, all alone (Kaleidoscope Publishing) received the State Award, the Anagnostis Literary Magazine Award, and was included in the White Ravens catalogue (2017). Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer… (Patakis Publichers) received the Greek IBBY Award, the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration (ΕBGE) honor and in May 2020 the Hans Christian Andersen Awards jury panel included this in a list of 20 books that the panel, deeming them as being of particular significance, recommends that they be translated throughout the world so that they may accessed by children everywhere. A Journey of Their Own (Kaleidoscope Publishing) received the Anagnostis Literary Magazine Award, as well, and was included in the White Ravens catalogue (2015). Her books Pericles and Aspasia – The Petticats, Book 1 (Patakis Publichers) and When the sun goes to bed (Martis Books) was included also in the White Ravens catalogue (2019 and 2021). She is nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA), 2022.
